History of military education
between theory and professional practice in the Brazilian Army (1889-1944)
Abstract
This research on politics and culture in the military universe sought to investigate how, in the history of higher education institutions Military reform of its regulations and internal rules aimed at building a professional modernization project of the Brazilian Army, shaping political actors in order to consolidate the institution and the republican regime through constant reorganization of the education model used in its Official Training Schools. The constant changes in the education system were contextualized by historical and political moments that the Brazilian State was going through during the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century.
