O The journal Medicina Militar (1910-1923)

Abstract

This article analyzes the journal Medicina Militar, published between April 1910 and June 1923 in Rio de Janeiro, by a group of Health Service officers of the Brazilian Army. They aimed to transmit scientific knowledge to military health staff distributed throughout Brazil, and to appreciate in the face of civil and military medical society frameworks and services. We seek to demonstrate how willing they were to achieve their goals and the relevance of the topics covered, so that their aspirations and projects were taken by a national strategic policy. The magazine is studied in order to allow a synthetic assessment of their main aspects.
