Strategies for psychosocial rehabilitation

Abstract

This is about a case study with a qualitative analysis that had as objective to present the description of mental health and analyze the strategies of social rehabilitation used for the rescue of the possible citizenship of a patient with schizophrenia diagnosed. The collection of data was carried out through half-organized interview, check to the handbook and domiciliary visits. The research scenarios were: the UISM’s Centro de Atenção Diária (CAD), the current patient residence and that one where he inhabited with parents and siblings. After initiate therapeutical accompaniment at the cited CAD, the patient with the support of a multidisciplinary team, started to live alone, carry out his domestic activities and have autonomy to manage his expenditures. In this way, this study highlighted the importance of the rehabilitative practices for patients with mental disorders, strengthening how much the support of a multidisciplinary team makes difference in the rescue of the autonomy and citizenship of ones with social and familiar bond affected.
