Message from the Navy Health Care Director
Abstract
As we celebrate the 166th Anniversary of the Navy Health Corps is with great pleasure that we present the 76th issue of the journal Arquivos Brasileiros de Medicina Naval.
Published since the 40s, reflects the initiative of selfless health professionals that despite their everyday care, forensic or operative labor, find time to devote to the exciting world of research.
Thus, the journal demonstrates the greatness of the Navy Health Sistem to the national and international scientific community, fruit enhancement of teaching and research, relevant members of our mission. Such production contributes unequivocally, for permanent improvement of the Navy Health Corps (CSM), on behalf of our clientele.
The Institute of Biomedical Research of the Navy (IPB) located at Marcilio Dias Naval Hospital, increasingly strengthens its ties with other scientific institutions working in the areas of cell biology, bioengineering, pharmacokinetics, isolation and characterization of new bioactive natural compounds, experimental surgery, as well as surgical and clinical training by realistic simulation with the use of virtual reality.
Currently, with modern and functional facilities and perfectly aligned with the current standards of health surveillance, National Council for Animal Experiments Control (Concea) and National Research Ethics Commission (Conep). Open to academies and research centers of universities it allows the establishment of a new direction to the intellectual development of health professionals.
We hope the articles selected for this edition provide pleasant moments of reading and be rich source of technical consultation for the present and the future. Therefore, I present my compliments to all those who directly or indirectly contributed to its realization.
Finally, it fits a fair tribute to express our gratitude and admiration to all members of the CSM, military and civilians, officers and soldiers, men and women sailors, present and past, that with perseverance, enthusiasm and dedication to great lengths provide a worthy service to the naval family.
