A importância da auditoria concorrente para o Sistema de Saúde da Marinha

Abstract

When demands for medical and hospital care exceed the installed capacity of the health care network of the Brazilian Navy Health System, it turns to public and private partners. The navy medical audit is responsible for controlling the costs presented by these partners. This article aims to emphasize the importance of the systematic support of concurrent audit, also known as in loco, and characterized by the presence of the auditor in the place and moment of the medical service provided, in controlling costs for the Navy Health System. It‘s been reviewed literature related to medical audit in manual and scientific articles, focusing on concurrent au dit; and the theoretical framework suggested in the Study booklet from the Health Management Course runned by Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ). Works presented by navy officers for the Superior (C- Sup) and the Maritime Politics and Strategies (C-PEM) courses were consulted too. In this article, it’s noted that medical audit aims the improvement, balance and sanity of the audited system, capable of ensuring quality assistance to patients. And identifies concurrent audit, a medical audit tool presently in evolution in the Navy Health System, as having a great potential to contribute to reach those goals.
