Abstract

This paper seeks to verify the condition of the Portuguese naval power throughout the war against the WIC, the resources necessary for development and operation of the Navy, the cost and availability of revenue of the Portuguese Crown to preserve them in a critical moment in its history: Restoration of 1640.
